The restaurant and pub at Summit Lodge sit in their own thatched building at 8 Mark Street, a few steps from the rondavels and a short walk from the middle of Graskop. There is parking at the door.

It is a proper dining room rather than a breakfast corner: wooden tables under a beamed ceiling, a fire at one end for the winter, and windows onto the garden. Through from it are the bar, a pool table and a dartboard.

The dining room

Laid up for dinner most evenings. The fire is lit when it is cold, which on the escarpment is most of the winter and a fair number of summer nights.

The bar

A long counter with stools, under its own thatch, with the fridges behind it. It is where guests end up after a day on the escarpment, and it is the warmest room on the property in winter.

Pool and darts

A pool table and a dartboard through from the bar, which is what the room is for on a wet afternoon or a long evening.

Dinner after a day on the Panorama Route

Graskop is the middle of the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, and most of its viewpoints and waterfalls are a short drive back from the lodge. Finish at God's Window or the falls in the late afternoon and you are back in town before dark, with the fire lit and no long drive ahead of you.
