In the area

The area offers many options to keep any visitor entertained while staying at our lodge. Elephant rides, game viewing, bridge swinging and hiking are just to name a few. The area has abundant wildlife and natural wonders to be enjoyed by our guests. Also in the surrounding areas you can find quad-biking trails, hot-air ballooning, river rafting and much more!

 

The Kruger National Park is only 45Km from our lodge. A scenic road trip ensures that you arrive at the Kruger Park refreshed and ready to enjoy the wonderful wildlife it has to offer.

Another attraction is the Blyde River Canyon, only 30km from the lodge and classified as the third largest canyon in the world, is a must to see. The world-renown God's Window is a very short 8km from the lodge.

The sheer vertical cliffs around Graskop & Sabie lends itself to exhilarating rock climbing and abseiling for those with the right equipment, courage and know-how. A number of adventure operators, with the right equipment and qualified instructors, offer abseiling adventures around Graskop, Sabie and Hazyview. Cost varies from ZAR80.00 PER person but is quoted and managed by external tour operators and may change from time to time.

The Sabie Trout Angling Club stock 7 km of the Sabie River (32 km from Graskop), as well as parts of the Blyde River near Pilgrim's Rest (24 Km from Graskop), with rainbow and brown trout to supplement the natural breeding population of trout in these rivers.

The Sabie river is arguably the best river fly-fishing venue for trout on public waters in the Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces. Fly-fishers have to purchase a day permit and must also be in possession of a provincial trout angling license.  Strictly fly-fishing tackle and artificial flies only.

Gold Panning : The first pioneers feverishly panned for alluvial gold in the rivers and streams of the region - some made fortunes, others lost their boots. Re-live the gold fever at the Diggings in Pilgrim's Rest (24 km from Graskop).  Purchase a ticket at the Museum in Pilgrim's for a conducted tour and then try your hand at this popular pastime that thas been polished to a fine art by some.
